First Idea (Script)

This was the original idea for the script before it was quickly changed. It was changed because our group took a lot of inspiration was taken from the film "Se7ev".

Inspiration

From watching the opening sequence of Se7ev we decided to make our opening sequence to have the basis of this film. We wanted it to be like this because we liked the way there was completely no dialogue during this short clip. Having no dialogue in the intro makes the clip strong because it makes the audience question themselves what is going on throughout the film. Also the identity of the person in the clip is completely hidden making it seem more like a horror film. Things like this would be incorporated in our opening sequence.

Evaluation of Premliminary Task

The best thing that I think went well with our preliminary task was the match on action shot. This was the best feature of the film because both parts that were filmed went well together when they were editing. Also I would rate the teamwork eight out of ten.  I rate it at this because overall we worked hard together and we even finished 20 mins before the time limit. But during filming at certain points not all members of the team were taking part in the production.

The things that went with the group is the 180 degree rule, this went well because it wasn't broken once, because this went well it sped up the production of the film because shots didn't have to be re-shot. Also shot reverse shot was used well because during the interview it was incorporated well. Where you can see the shot reverse shot at its best is the conversation with the two characters.

One problem that we encountered was the camerawoman's reflection in the window and clock. This meant that the window shot had to be changed at the last minute because there was no way to hide the reflection of the camerawoman. This also happened when the clock was being filmed so we had to change the angle of the shot. Another problem that we came across is the camerawoman was too short which meant some of the character was cut off in the shot. We could of resolved this by having a taller person filming or giving her a footstool.

Overall the production of the film went well which meant that we had a good film at the end. Although we came across numerous problems the group have learnt from them so they can be improved in the next film.

Preliminary Task (Final Project)

For my preliminary task, I will be continually editing a short film of a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting in a chair opposite another character, with whom he/she exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue. During this task, I will be demonstrating the 180 degree rule, match on action and the shot/reverse shot.
